Saphenion®: Long Covid an Gefäßwänden – Gibt es diese aktuell häufiger in der Praxis anzutreffende Komplikation wirklich? Es liegt der Verdacht nahe – denn in den letzten 40 Monaten (5/22 – 9/25) haben wir in unserer im Rahmen der Patientengespräche auch immer durchgeführen Corona – Anamnese in mehreren Fällen diese Komplikation gesehen.

Saphenion®: Vacuum – Kompression nach Krampfadertherapie – Unsere Erfahrungen nach Venenkleber und Mikroschaum
Diesen neuen therapeutischen Ablauf haben wir vor 10 Jahren in der Rostocker Praxis begonnen. Bis heute haben wir 659 Patienten mit postoperativer Kompressions – Massage und ab 2020 bei 674 Patienten mit der Vacuum – Kompression nach Verklebung der Stammkrampfadern und nach Mikroschaumtherapie während der postoperativen Nachsorge behandelt. Vom Erfolg der Therapie waren wir sehr überrascht!

We started using this new therapeutic procedure 10 years ago in our Rostock practice. To date, we have treated 659 patients with postoperative compression massage and, as of 2020, 674 patients with vacuum compression after gluing the trunk varicose veins and after microfoam therapy during postoperative follow-up care. We were very surprised by the success of the therapy!

Starker Alkoholkonsum scheint die Gefäßalterung zu beschleunigen. Dieser Zusammenhang zeigte sich in einer Studie, in der der Alkoholkonsum der Teilnehmer über 25 Jahre erfasst worden ist. Dies betrifft sowohl Arterien als auch Venen. In einigen Studien ließ sich belegen, dass mäßiger Alkoholgenuss – also das Gläschen Rotwein am Tag – der Herz – und Gefäßgesundheit zuträglich ist. In anderen Studien hingegen soll Alkohol in jeder Menge dem Herz und Gefäßen schaden.  

Heavy alcohol consumption seems to accelerate vascular aging. A study in which the alcohol consumption of the participants over 25 years was recorded showed this connection. Alcohol affects both arteries and veins. Some studies have shown that moderate alcohol consumption—that is, a glass of red wine during the day—is beneficial for heart and vascular health. In other studies, however, alcohol is said to damage the heart and blood vessels in any amount.

Vein glue versus radiofrequency therapy – 7 years: For more than 20 years now, truncal varicose veins has increasingly been treated endovenously with catheter support. It all began with the rather cumbersome VNUS® Closure process and the easier-to-use linear laser. This was followed in 2006/2007 by the bipolar RFITT® catheter and the VNUS® ClosureFast system as well as the radial laser. However, it should be said that following historical medical truth, endovenous sclerotherapy has been developed and used since 1911. And already in the late 20s, many surgeons in Germany used the gluing technique with sugar solutions. Also, Ferdinand Sauerbruch of the Charitè hospital in Berlin was a friend of this method.
