Saphenion®: Militarisierung der Medizin – der vormals verantwortliche Minister Karl Lauterbach hat angekündigt, auch das deutsche Gesundheitssystem für den militärischen Bündnisfall der NATO in Europa fit machen zu wollen. Der deutsche Ärztekammerpräsident, Klaus Reinhardt, sieht nunmehr auch aus seiner Sicht eine Notwendigkeit, das deutsche Gesundheitssystem auf einen Krieg vorzubereiten.

Auf der einen Seite sehen wir weltweit einen Anstieg des Einsatzes von Venenkleber (> 1 Mio. Patienten) und die Erweiterung des Einsatzspektrums von Biokleber in allen operativen Disziplinen. Allein in unserer Praxis sind inzwischen 2290 Patienten an 4853 Stammvenen erfolgreich mit den Venenkleber „VenaSeal®“ therapiert worden.
Auf der anderen Seite sehen wir – immer noch – vereinzelt unsachliche und fachlich völlig unfundierte Darstellungen in Presseartikeln und Patienteninformationen sowie auch in Privatgutachten und erleben in persönlichen Gesprächen mit Patienten und Kollegen immer noch eine Verunsicherung und gewisse Unkenntnis zum Thema Biokleber.

On the one hand, we are seeing an increase in the use of vein sealants worldwide (> 1 million patients) and the expansion of the range of applications for bioadhesives in all surgical disciplines. In our practice alone, 2290 patients with 4853 truncal veins have been successfully treated with the “VenaSeal®” vein glue.
On the other hand, we still occasionally see unobjective and technically completely unfounded statements in press articles and patient information as well as in private reports, and in personal discussions with patients and colleagues we still experience uncertainty and a certain lack of knowledge on the subject of bioadhesives.

Saphenion®: Unsere Wartezimmerkonzerte – Die OZ-Kultur vom 12.07.2023 berichtete: „Rostocker Arzt begeistert Patienten mit speziellem Konzept“ – der Journalist Werner Geske hatte die Praxis im Juni 2023 anlässlich des 10. Wartezimmerkonzertes, zu dem wir wie beim 1. Konzert Harpoon aus Warnemünde eingeladen hatten, besucht. Nach eigener Auskunft war er sehr gerührt von der Athmosphäre und der Möglichkeit, sich einen Eindruck von dieser Art Kunst in der Medizin verschaffen können. Angeregt führte er dann Interviews mit dem Musiker und Patienten.
Saphenion®: Our waiting room concerts – The OZ-Kultur of 12.07.2023 reported: “Rostock doctor inspires patients with special concept” – the journalist Werner Geske visited the practice in June 2023 on the occasion of the 10th waiting room concert, to which we had invited Harpoon from Warnemünde, as at the 1st concert. Saphenion®: Häufige Fragen von Patienten – durch einen großen Zufall habe ich meinen alten Kollegen aus Zeiten der Ausbildung an der Charitè Berlin, Prof. Thomas Bürger, in Rostock wieder getroffen. Er hatte bei einem Spaziergang am Ostufer der Warnow das Gemälde seines Vaters an unserem Praxisgebäude gesehen – und inzwischen arbeitet er bei uns schon fast 2 Jahre.

Saphenion®: Frequently asked questions from patients – by a great coincidence, I met my old colleague from my training days at the Charitè Berlin, Prof. Thomas Bürger, again in Rostock. He had seen his father’s painting on our practice building during a walk along the eastern bank of the Warnow – and he has now been working with us for almost 2 years.

This is exactly what we found in our research and this is exactly what led us back to Ferdinand Sauerbruch. Admittedly, it was more of a coincidence, and admittedly, a very small star in the big sky of surgery, but still very interesting and belonging to the present day.
