Saphenion®: Kompressionsstrumpf nach Krampfadertherapie? Eine post operative Kompressionsstrumpftherapie wird in zahlreichen Leitlinien der internationalen Venen – Fachgesellschaften empfohlen. Sie dient der Schmerzlinderung, der post operativen Reduzierung von Gewebeschwellung und Ödembildung, der Kompression von Blutergüssen und Wundhöhlen (nach Stripping – Op). Insgesamt also eine Maßnahme, die auf eine für den Patienten komplikationsärmere Erholungsphase (Rekonvaleszenz) nach der Therapie hinarbeiten möchte.

Saphenion®: Geschichte der Krampfadertherapie – Die neuzeitliche Krampfadertherapie begann mit Schede in Berlin, er entfernte ab 1866 Seitenastkrampfadern über viele Hautschnitte. In 1884 berichtete Madelung von Ausschäloperationen „zirkoider Varizen“, auch der Stammkrampfadern (Vena saphena magna). Trendelenburg, zuvor in Rostock Chirurg an der Uniklinik, beschrieb 1888-1891 den – heute non gültigen – pathologischen Rezirkulationskreislauf bei Krampfadern. Ab 1930 hat dann Sauerbruch an der Berliner Charitè seinen Chirurgen verloren, Krampfadern heraus zu ziehen, sie wurden mit hochprozentiger Glucoselösung verklebt…

Saphenion®: Krampfadern und Thrombose – Beide Erkrankungen gehören in eine enge Kausalkette. Das Risiko von Krampfaderpatienten, eine oberflächliche oder tiefe Venenthrombose zu erleiden steigt expotentiell um den Faktor 2-4. Bei Frauen mit antikonzeptiver Hormontherapie steigt das Risiko um den Faktor 8.
Saphenion®: Varicose veins and thrombosis – both diseases are closely linked. The risk of varicose vein patients suffering a superficial or deep vein thrombosis increases exponentially by a factor of 2-4. In women on anticonceptive hormone therapy, the risk increases by a factor of 8.

Saphenion®: Turning Time at Charitè – The Berlin Charité, Germany’s well-known hospital, was at the same time a center of research, teaching, and further education. It was part of the university, which was given the name Humboldt in GDR times. After the end of the GDR a considerable exchange of management personnel took place in the Charité, the media supplied the accompanying music with Stasi hysteria and scandal stories. The Charité, also in GDR times nationally and internationally a well-known university hospital, now seemed to have been a branch of the MfS and the Politbureau in public perception.

Saphenion®: long-term results of vein glue – has been published by us in regular succession for 10 years and aims to compare international publications on the subject with our own experiences and to remain meaningful. Our patients are now very well informed about this therapy method for varicose veins, which has been offered for 13 years.

After 13 years of use, we have so far treated 2264 patients on 4785 saphenous veins – over 1,1 Mio. patients worldwide have now been treated with the vein glue VenaSeal®. In the meantime, we have successfully used the vein glue VenaSeal® to clean the vein system in 68 patients with COVID-19 infection after they have recovered, and have treated 78 patients with ulcera crures of legs successfully.
