Saphenion®: long-time results of vein glue – has been published by us in regular succession for 10 years and aims to compare international publications on the subject with our own experiences and to remain meaningful. Our patients are now very well informed about this therapy method for varicose veins, which has been offered for 13 years.

In the meantime, we have successfully used the vein glue VenaSeal® to clean the vein system in 67 patients with COVID-19 infection after they have recovered, and have treated 75 patients with ulcera crures of legs successfully.

In Germany, around 800,000 leg vein thromboses occur every year (excluding Covid-19 infections and vaccinations). In 25 – 50% of affected patients, pulmonary embolisms occur as a result. Almost 25% of these are fatal. In only 11% of fatal pulmonary embolisms was the cause – deep vein thrombosis – diagnosed during pre-diagnostics! Only 17% of the affected patients were primarily described as having a leg vein thrombosis; in 25% of cases, a deep vein thrombosis was only recognized after the pulmonary embolism. Incidentally, this phenomenon also occurs very frequently at present – Covid-19 patients and also those who have been vaccinated twice suffer thromboses with subsequent pulmonary embolism!
